Privacy Policy
Effective October 20, 2026
Key Terrain is a personal blog written by Johnny DeMaddalena. This policy explains what information Key Terrain collects, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: I collect only what you choose to send me, I use it only to send you new posts or reply to you, and I never sell it.
Information you give me
- Subscribe form: your first name, last name, email address, and whether you agreed to receive email updates.
- Contact form: your name, email address, and the message you write.
You don't need to share anything to read Key Terrain. Every article is free to read without an account.
How it's used
Subscriber information is used only to send you new Key Terrain posts and occasional updates about the site. Contact messages are used only to read and reply to you. I don't sell, rent, or trade your information, and I don't share it with advertisers.
Hosting and service providers
Key Terrain is built and hosted on Wirechunk. Form submissions are stored in Wirechunk and screened for spam, and contact messages are forwarded to my email. Wirechunk keeps aggregate counts of page requests to run the site. Those counts do not identify individual readers.
Key Terrain does not use advertising networks, third-party analytics, or tracking pixels.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe at any time, ask what information I hold about you, or ask me to correct or delete it. Send the request through the contact page and I'll take care of it.
Key Terrain is not directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect information from them.
If this policy changes, I'll update it here and change the effective date at the top.
